These resources can be conveniently accessed offline on your yacht after downloading.

The primary objective of this app is to effectively visualize sailing paths to clarify potential collision scenarios. It addresses critical situations such as when you are sailing on either "starboard tack" or "port tack," highlighting strategies to avoid contact. The app focuses on four fundamental Right of Way rules:

<ol>
 <li>When boats are on opposite tacks, the port tack boat must keep clear of starboard tack boats (Rule 10).</li>
 <li>When boats are on the same tack and overlapped, the windward boat (closest to the wind) must keep clear of the leeward boat (Rule 11).</li>
 <li>When boats are on the same tack and not overlapped, the boat that is astern must keep clear of the boat ahead (Rule 12).</li>
 <li>When a boat is tacking, it must keep clear of boats that are not tacking (Rule 13).</li>
</ol>

These Right of Way rules are established by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF/World Sailing). The animations included in the app are components of the game "Tactical Sailing - Boat Against Boat," which was honored with the "European Award for Technology Supported Learning - Best Media Didactics!" in 2012.

Optimized for the iPad, this app is also compatible with iPhone and iPod, albeit with smaller video displays. Due to memory constraints, the video clips do not include sound; however, the accompanying text serves as an excellent supplementary resource for iPhone users. Additionally, users can view video clips on Apple TV.

These essential tips, along with an additional 40 tips, are integral to the broader game series: "Tactical Sailing - A Game Against the Wind," "Boat Against Boat," and "Coach's Toolbox."
